The charity Smile Group was set up by Natalie and Ruth in 2011. Both mums had first-hand experience of perinatal mental health challenges, and identified a gap in community support.

Working closely with their regional clinical network, Smile offers a quality grassroots service that is accessible, relatable and built around parents’ needs. Combining first-hand experience of perinatal mental health challenges with professional expertise, Smile is there to remind you that you are never alone in your experience and that you can go on to truly thrive in parenthood.

Claire’s story…

“Prior to attending group I was so Nervous and anxious, felt as though the whole world was against me and I was completely alone in my thoughts. Smile helped me realise I wasn’t alone. That it’s ok to feel this way, I felt at home with them, they are my safety blanket and reassurance always. The group helped me make friends with other mums. through the most difficult times of my motherhood and pregnancy Sue and Bronya got me through it more than they will ever know. Genuinely don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for these incredible women at smile, hands down they saved my life.”
